maybe it would, but why? she clearly can bowl with a forehoof. what’s she need a horn for then, to hold onion rings?
either way, she sure doesn’t get much use out of the fact that she has a horn.
Twilight did say her own costume was “hoof-stitched” in Luna Eclipsed, too. Maybe unicorns choose to use their hooves for certain activities ‘cause it’s more fun, or maybe there are rules against using magic to bowl.

That was the opening ceremonies. No real concern for athletic cheating during that.

Twilight lit it during the opening ceremony, no one competing at the time so no cheating could take place since the only thing happening was stuff like the lighting and the town flags
I always figured from Luna’s “hmm…”-type reaction that she’d sensed something deceptive was going on and was in charge of security at the games. “Unicorns will no longer be admitted without a disabling spell…” [my emphasis]
(Interesting that two of the characters with a [possibly not entirely just my-head]canon sense for dark magic going off, Luna and Discord, also have dark pasts. Familiarity with the subject, I guess…)

Mostly because the bowling balls seem to have been redesigned with one giant pastern-and-hoof-sized hole perhaps. Though the exterior decor of the place still has some that are still designed with three finger holes.

I’d say they did since when the ice block came crashing down Twilight didn’t try to magic it and the princess flew towards the ice again instead of using magic.

Could be, the Equestria games forced all unicorns to have anti-spell spells put on them or they couldn’t get in.
