Time to change the tags! Redo the art! Her name is Croissants!
I swear there are more fans obsessed with her than actual, recurring and important characters on the show.
In my headcanon, Derpy adopts Dinky after the latter’s parents are killed by a car bomb when an evil interdimensional galactic empire invades Equestria (Spoiler: Equestria wins thanks to Lisa Simpson). Also, Dinky’s special talent is linguistics, and her cutie mark is her name in the IPA, with square brackets (Though would it be [ɖi˧ɴqi˧˥ɕä˥˩n̼i˥˩ɳä˧](Equestria: [ɖi˧ɴqi˧˥ɕä˥˩]= Croissants [n̼i˥˩ɳä˧]= Small) or just [ɖi˧ɴqi˧˥]?). So, maybe croissants for the brackets?
She’ll always be Ditzy “Derpy” Doo to some and Muffins, Bubbles, or Best Pony Mailmare Something-Or-Other to others. It’s not like life as you know it will end over a possibly canon name that doesn’t suit your tastes. Whatever name you chose, go with it. At this point, I just don’t care about something trivial like name changes.
I said it wasn’t actually given as her name, being considered means that it never made it to being her name so as I said, it was never a her actual name.
Also that came up long after the one I mentioned, and that was just “Ditzy” there was no “Doo” in it.

True, but that doesn’t make my point any less valid, he being named “Ditzy” was a thing fans did, just like how “Derpy” started.
Yeah but it’s something she would do, wasn’t it? ;p
The name was said but was NOT attached to Derpy, someone asked Lauren Faust of this “Ditzy” was in fact the same pony, she said it wasn’t even a thight of who Ditzy is but for all she new it might end up being her.
Bottom line, “Ditzy” was never actually pined to Derpy.
During Winter Wrap-Up, somepony specifically said, “Ditzy flew the birds NORTH again!” Although once RD called her ‘Derpy’ during The Last Roundup, the name definitely stuck.
I think the voice thing was like the tipping point, I remember a lot the complaints including at least one other thing, all really stupid.
I don’t think anyone would give a damn about her whether or not she talks anymore.
Pinkie: “Oh, there comes Muffin again.”
Rainbow: “Why do you call her that, Pinkie?”
Pinkie: “Oh, no reason…”
Derpy: “10 muffins please!”
Won’t bother me if you keep that headcanon.
This threatens my headcanon that they’re not the least bit related.
