I WANNA TAKE HER HOME!!!
I have nothing but respect for people who try their hands at music. It takes time, it takes emotional involvement, and you’re right, someone has to be willing to listen.
And in the same breath I’ll also say I don’t have any problems with people who do visual art, unless they’re using it as a mechanism for hate against a group or a person. Then I have a problem. The reason I personally used my art for that purpose years ago is because I felt other people deserved it for the way they treated me. But all that is in the past. All that’s left is my commentary I leave for people online. Apparently some like what I have to say; some don’t. I guess I just can’t stand being ignored.
Bringing this back to Gilda, maybe that’s how she feels. She’s a typical tsundere: she wants to be noticed, but outwardly hates being noticed and appreciated because it makes her feel weak.
I wish sharing music was as easy as sharing art. With art you can take a split second glance and comprehend most of the effort put into it, but with music you have to sit down and listen to it for a few minutes, and if you don’t pay attention you may miss the finer details. I never got the drive to really make music because I could never share my music with anyone I know because no one really cared, or no one had time to listen for a minute.
There is also no real easy way to talk to people about your music, because it is much more… I hate to say complex, but it kind of is. With art anyone can give tips and help out, but with music, especially digital, it takes someone who understand a ton of complex things to even begin to help.
I don’t know why I am saying this… But, ugh.
Other ways you are like Gilda: 1. You have fingers 2. You are full of meat.
It was a good day.
Funny, because I had a similar experience with my artwork. After high school I started posting art to the internet. I was idealistic then, and believed in the inherent good in people. Then came the insults and being shot down repeatedly on various art sites. The bitterness grew slowly within me, and over the decades I have become more and more bitter with people until now I can barely stand to look at others or talk to them. I have given up on any chance at an art career and also at any chance at gaining any friends.
In a lot of ways, I’m probably just like Gilda.
Probably after she returned to Griffonstone from flight camp, and everyone teased her about taking flying lessons from ponies.
