What do you mean? A close-knit community like Ponyville would totally be divided into angry factions over something that I can’t imagine matters to most of them. The pie and dress fight this leads to makes all the sense, given the high, high stakes of…a plaque.

Yeah, Rarity and Rainbow are pretty much friends by association. They don’t ever really hang out and they don’t have any of the same hobbies. They’ve rarely spoke to each other, well, in comparison to the others. That’s a thing with the main six and I’m happy to see that they have friends outside of that little group, mostly seen with Fluttershy though.
