This is the one time ONE TIME I wish the comics were canon, I enjoyed the fun adventures Discord and the CMC were having and enjoyed how they all got along

Technically, the scene between Discord and Applebloom did not prove/disprove anything. It just showed the CMC not being nice to Discord: that could mean anything. It could be that he was being WIRED in that scene even for them, plus they could be disappointed in him for betraying his friends. He “COULD” be an honorary crusader, but he’s still certainly not above messing with their heads for laughs.

Something tells me that the writers don’t pay attention to the comics.

I to was disturbed by the CMCs reaction to Discord in this ep. I was expecting them to jump with more joy at seeing their friend and Honorary Cutie Mark Crusader. It was the perfect opportunity to merge the show with the comics and the writers…freaking….BLEW IT!!!!! Do they even want to make more money? THEN THINK AND DO!!!

Whoever thought of this scene is getting bucked in the face.

one weird thing i’m wondering when watching this episode is if the writers are accidentally teaching kids how to deal with friends with serious issues… i mean it’s one thing to see discord’s petulance as a kid viewer, but as an adult i’m watching it and thinking about all the unfortunate people i know/am related to who act like him. don’t get me wrong, i actually think that’s a pretty interesting aspect of the show, and possibly even a beneficial one, but it’s a bit odd to me nonetheless.

Maybe they still have some resentment toward him because they haven’t forgotten he almost tore apart their friendship in season 2. That, coupled with the fact he sold them to one of Equestria’s bigger threats…

I know right. In fact, their dislike towards Discord is a good point that fans tend to dismiss. Of course this doesn’t make discord blameless but you cant really deny that the ponies (with the exception of Fluttershy) might have played a part in Discord betraying them, like twilight and the others made it clear to him they wanted nothing to do with him so why wouldn’t that be a factor in his decision. Fluttershy was the only one who defended him and treated him with kindness and resepct. His friendship with Fluttershy was the only reason he hesitated in siding with Tirek.

Seriously! Even after he gave them the last key and helped them defeat Tirek, all the other mane six (sans Flutters and Pinkie of course) still dislike him, as well as their sisters???

My reaction exactly. Me heart broke at this scene. So it’s official: the comics aren’t canon. Damn. The CMC and Discord go waaaaay too well together. And it kinda sucks that their excellent adventure won’t come up in some out-of-context anecdote later on.
