I think you’re way better at natural skin tone than EqG skin tone. Also, as with what Kanrabat said, don’t just get stuck on drawing busts of Twi, try drawing at least one another EqG character with full body, instead of just busts.

Damn. It’s the exact same picture as the previous one. The only thing changed is the skin tone. From sickly cartoony one, to the more realistic one.
 
Amazingly, just doing so made a world of difference!
 
Now, I think it’s time to move on to a new picture. Try making a different character. More importantly, DO THE ENTIRE BODY! Too many times, amateur artists make perfect faces and heads, but the bodies are all screwed-up because of a severe lack of practice.

I am no longer an atheist, because this image is proof that God exists, and hates us.

I notice the cheeks are poofier, didnt think of that, but that feature helps the mouth from standing out as much. Also the ears play a part.
