Now imagine that Velvet’s in the middle of placing all of the presents underneath the tree the night before Hearth’s Warming, then she spots the plate of cookies and glass of milk that Twilight left out for Santa-Pony. Velvet doesn’t really like cookies that much anymore, but she eats them anyway, because she wants her little filly to think that Santa-Pony was grateful for the kind offering and enjoyed it.
 
Or that Velvet has to sneak like a ninja into Twilight’s room at night in order to place a bit underneath her pillow after Twilight lost her first tooth. Velvet almost trips on a toy, but she catches herself and manages to keep from waking her daughter up. After gently lifting the pillow, she sneaks back out undetected, only for Shining to catch her in the hallway. He winks at her, then goes back to his room and closes his door as quietly as possible, trying not to wake Twilight up too.
 
OR MAYBE! The whole family takes a trip to a local Canterlot book store and Twilight sees a book that she reaaaaaaaaally wants, but her allowance hasn’t granted her the bits to afford it. Velvet initially shoos Shining off to go and keep his little sister distracted, then Velvet and Night Light both go off to buy the book themselves, with Twilight none the wiser as the book has then been stashed in a bag from the store. They surprise her with it when they all get home.
 
I could do this all day ([coughs] or expand it into a fanfic [coughs]). I just really love the idea that Twilight has amazing parents who love her with all of their hearts =D .

Because it would be dangerous to our health. I mean, think about it. If they actually showed a flashback of Velvet, with a voice actor, tucking Twilight into bed and singing her a lullaby, imagine the death toll.

To be fair, Celestia IS pretty awesome. And has been caring for her since she got her cutie mark too.

And then she spends more time talking about how great Celestia is.
