The Elements most likely operate the same as Chaos Emeralds or Crystal Stars or Dragon Balls. Cannot discern good and evil power or intent. :3

Hopefully Twilight will find a way to fix that, and Starlight will get the punishment she deserves (NO redemption).

Because of a Time Paradox caused by Starlight Glimmer, Celestia doesn’t find that student with the prophesied Cutie Mark, and upon the Day of the Summer Sun Celebration, Celestia goes to the abandoned castle, and gets the Elements of Harmony, but she not only banishes Nightmare Moon back into the Moon, but also banishes the moon itself FAR AWAY FROM THE PLANET! Because of this power, and the negative feelings of regret, anguish, and such, she becomes Nightmare Star, bringer of the Eternal Daylight! And using the power, she punishes ALL who don’t follow her will, by basically blasting them with the Elements of Harmony, and basically making anypony into a hypnotized slave. The Elements and Celestia herself basically become Indra’s Arrow, as referred to by the Ramanayah, the same force that is Laputa’s Fire, and the whole world would kneel to Nightmare Star!

This shrine looks so typically come from Hinduism mythology.
