Description

Based on what I got from MLP and Regular Show and the rage over Twi and Mordecai. Here is my non-shipping pic, frankly Mordecai is much too casual and a slacker for a pony who is, adorable (adorkable), an egghead, a pony that sticks to a schedule, likely to panic over little issues and go off on rants, and Mordecai’s ability to slack off his responsibilities would drive Twilight crazy. Love Twilight and Mordecai, but they would not gel well as a couple.
 
Would like to see a Fists of Justice and Elements of Harmony working in tandem against Discord and Klorgbane the Destroyer.

I think you’re confusing Mordecai for Rigby. Mordecai’s not an outright slacker, he’s just often dragged into slacking by his friend (show creators can confirm). And wasn’t it obvious even from the first season that he will commit to work? He’s often the one to nag about doing their job seriously, or getting back to work “before Benson sees us”. He’d even vouch for extra work occasionally. Mordecai was just against meaningless jobs.
To be honest, though, I really don’t get the logic/reasoning behind why Mordecai would be unimpressed by Twilight. I mean, he’s not an apathetic kind of person, and at least starting from season 2, he’s been hinted at to be intellectually inclined; he reads books, at least, but not in a thorough/bookworm-y way. Like you said, he’s casual. But I wouldn’t say he’s too casual for Twilight - actually, he’s just the right kind of casual that a person like her would need. Some people argue that their personalities could balance each other: she can teach him how to be more productive, while he could teach her how to live a little - lessen her twilightjng if you will. This is where the opposites attract logic males sense.

That… is just not the Mordecai that I watched or remember. He’s not the character that actively avoids his job.

And this is supposed to turn him off, or… What’s the point here? I can kind of understand the panic over little issues and go off on rants part, but what exactly is it about being smart and adorkable that makes Twilight unattractive?
Mordecai had a less than stellar encounter with unicorns once
But that didn’t stop him from questioning rule 37 in House Rules. (In case you don’t know, it’s a rule to ban all unicorns in the park.)

Yeah, I agree with this. If Twi is with a person who has the same character, she would become mad. It works both ways…

Considering your parents apparently WERE attracted enough to get married and have you, that’s actually evidence for the theory, not evidence against. The saying doesn’t go “opposites remain in true love forever.”  
My parents were not opposites, and they ended up divorced as well. What does it mean? Pretty much nothing. Divorce happens.
