As someone that was around when the infamous Loss comic appeared, it’s not so much people being mad at him as just utter amazement at how tone-deaf the comic was, going from a pretty lame gag video game comic to heavy drama like this, and not even executed well in my opinion. And then there was the blog post with his comic that had supposedly profound lines like “A miscarriage is often much harder on the woman than the man”. Wow, really?! Between all that, plus the copy-pasted art and the fact that Buckley was at the time kind of a jerk, and it’s not surprising how mocked it was.
 
That said, his art and attitude does seem to have greatly improved recently, so good for him.

I was too young when this whole Tim Buckley drama blew up but i think there was more reason than “this comic is mediocre”.The only thing i know is that he tried to make people pay to watch the cartoon adaptation of his work on a website,and said cartoon was….less than stellar to be polite
