There was never an ounce of honesty to that mistake. The mistake itself was specifically him being dishonest. Also it wasn’t even a mistake, he traced on purpose and scammed people on purpose. The only mistake he made was getting caught.
The BAD thing is when he swindle all the fans hard-earned money be selling traced artwork at the con with freaking expansive price and he’s still claimed he’s right about it.
Cheer up. If you feel too depressed over this, might I suggest you step away from the computer and take your mind off it. After all, there are worse things in life and this is very minor. Trust me, it will get better in time.
Then, he is learning. He knows what he did and, if he is sincere, he will change. Time will tell, friend. Until then, don’t let the actions of other people break you. :)
Josh, my friend, you need to step back and take a look at what is truly happening. I’m sorry that people are bashing him for what he’s done. I like the Vampire Vinyl story, in particular. However, the reason that people are bashing him is because he is committing an act of copyright infringement. He is tracing Hasbro’s work and other people’s work and selling them. This is illegal, you know. Could you imagine if I sold the Underworld’s Cello upon completion? It’s not my characters, but fair use allows me make it.
I really do hope that he is able to regain the trust of his followers, but it will take work. Until then, cool down and wait. It will pass, it always does with this fandom.
My friend, as I warned, you’re letting your emotions cloud your judgement. Just looking at the evidence, it seems that the artist knew very well what he was doing, but did not consider it enough of a bad thing to stop doing it. We’re not judging his intentions, and I’ll take your word for that he wasn’t trying to be a bad person, but the thing is, they did a thing that by all rights they should have known wasn’t right.
What I’m saying is that regardless of your feelings on him, he did a very mean thing. Its been proven that he’s done the very mean thing, but you’re arghing that the mean thing wasn’t all, just because you like him. There’s no problem with still liking him and believing he’ll do his best not to do the mean thing in the future, but right now, he needs to face the music for the mean things he’s done.

Let
lie.
He traced official artwork, claimed it was his artwork, and then SOLD IT.
He kinda deserves to be treated like trash for lying to his fanbase and illegally turning massive profits off of Hasbro/DHX’s work.

We’ve had even less pony-related stuff stuck on here.

You’re right.

He did write an apology in his latest journal.

And yet he doesn’t deserve this much bashing. It’s just too much!

It was an honest mistake, that’s all it was!

sniffles I’m sorry. It’s just I’ve known drawponies for 4 years, and now he’s being treated like trash.
My friend, take a step back and cool off… it’s not worth getting that worked up over.
W..what do you mean?
