Let me put it like this, by that logic “fanfic killer” should be on every screenshot of a new episode because every new bit of info is killing a fanfic that says anything different, so the tag would need to be on every screenshot but as the tag then would have no real means for all of them it would then just be a tag that gets in the way.  
Also, unless it directly kills your fanfic no one will care about it, so it comes off more as a kind of comment and tags are not comments,

It’s directly related to the scene that took place in the image, how does it have nothing to do with it? Many tags conceived for fun went on to become mainstay, tagging rules are important but they aren’t as strict as you’re making them out to be.

Because letting a tag that has nothing to do with the actual image stay would not fit the tagging guidelines.
