Fascism is essentially the promotion of extreme nationalism and the glorification and protection of the state at any and all costs. Good analogy, btw.
Nazism/Fascism is not the same as Communism. The classical definition of Fascism is a society that places emphasis on the well-being of the group over that of an individual while still allowing its citizens individual freedoms. The Terran Federation from Robert A. Heinlein’s Starship Troopers is a good example of this definition of Fascism.
