I always thought that the Twilight/Rarity issue made this hard to work. I mean Twilight is OCD but also the most intellegent of the 6 which would mean she could do both Kid and Maka respectively. While Rarity is more concerned about style and looks (Symmetry is part of that), but having the connection with Spike like Maka and Soul does fit too.

Yes but OCD aside Rarity’s personality fits well and Twilight and Spike’s bond seems closer to that of Maka and Soul.
