Spoken like someone who has NEVER been in the military or loved someone who was in the military. One of my best friends is training to become a solider right now and as proud of him as I am, I still worry for his safety every single day.

Point being that, even though hundreds of soldiers die, they all affect lives. People are still having friends and loved ones stripped from their experiences, never again to know their presence.
 
Just forced to live with what they have. They may be very far away, but each death makes waves back home, as families and friends lose those they care about.
 
Just because a death becomes a number, doesn’t mean you should regard it as anything less than a living person being removed from the world.
