Description
Art from the recent chapter of my story: Piercing the Heavens
Here is an excerpt:
The two broke out of the fun the moment their eyes met. No words were said and no faces or silly expressions were made. They just stared, taking in each others eyes as if they hadnt seen each other in years. Because thats how long it felt. They were so important to each other that mere weeks without a moment like this one felt like ages.
They both slowly leaned in, closing their eyes, Dash hooking her hoof with Soarins as they closed the gap and their lips met softly. Their mouths locked together and held position as they shared a long, gentle moment of love that both of them desired greatly. Soarin reached his other hoof over and held it gingerly against her cheek as they slowly parted, caressing her face as they moved just far enough not to be kissing, moving no farther to look into each others eyes again as closely as possible.
Then Soarin felt slight vibrations pass through his hooves. He looked curiously at Dash and noticed she was shaking shivering. Soarin pulled back and examined her. Her ears were flopped down, her eyes squinting slightly and her lips parted just enough to see her lightly pressing her teeth together.
Dash? Soarin said her name with concern. She didnt show any signs of crying or sadness, it was almost as if something external was causing her to move in such a way.
What he didnt consider, was that it was him.
Dash suddenly leaned heavily into him, digging her cheek into his neck.
She inhaled sharply as she felt their bodies touch, as she felt her fur brush with his. She continued to shiver and hold him tightly, but it was because she wanted him she NEEDED him. He had an intoxicating effect on her.
Soarin himself felt shivers run through him as she expressed her need for the intense physical contact from him, his body responding without a moments thought. He brought his arms around her and pulled them tightly to her body, helping her press herself into him as he rested his chin atop her head. It felt so good knowing, seeing, and feeling how much the mare he loved needed him. It only acted in boosting his desire to make more time for her. In fact, seeing her respond to him like this made him feel terrible about not realizing their place and making the effort sooner.
Soarin reached up and lightly ran his hoof over her mane. The soft motion earned a content, squeaky sigh from Dash as she shifted in attempt to snuggle herself even further into him, her wings twitching as the satisfaction of feeling him against her reverberated throughout her body. She twitched as Soarin moved his nose and gently nuzzled it against her ear near the base of it. Soarin normally attacked her sweet spots quickly, but this time he touched ear as lightly as possible to create a good feeling instead of an intense one. The tingling sensation was light and comfortable.

and more fluff comes after ;D
Ouch… that is a lot of words, I doubt I would be able to read the series but if I ever get the chance I will take a look.
Looking back i left a lot out too xD
but yeah, i tend to wince when people ask if i can give a short rundown because there’s really nothing short about the fic or the way the story unfolds. I mean, it hit 1.2 million words recently… and i still have 1 more story arc to get through after i finish the one im on right now. o_o yeah this has been a wild unexpected ride xD
Just realized, but I never replied or thanked you for explaining what is going on. To summarize such a big story into a bite sized post probably took some work.
Well in short, and believe me this is the short version xD…
Much much earlier in the storyline Soarin is nearly killed. Celestia, who normally believes she is not to tamper with the course of a pony’s life, makes an exception (for certain reasons) and uses a forbidden dark magic (that was made and forbidden in the past by SOMBRA of all ponies due to how dangerous it is) to restore Soarin’s body and allow him to live. Unfortunately it’s not a simple fix, and the dark magic has to remain in Soarin in order for him to stay alive.
This causes serious problems for Soarin in the form of terrible headaches, lack of sleep, and other sorts of things. It enhances his natural abilities as well, but at the expense of a migraine that nearly cripples him whenever it activates.
SO… he goes to Luna (celestia is currently missing) and Discord and the two basically figure out that if they don’t do something, the magic will eventually KILL Soarin and possess his body (a similar fate to Sombra, at least with where im going in my particular universe) The reason he has the headaches is because he has no horn for the magic to flow through. So they give him an ancient artifact that had been used only a few times in the past to train rare cases where non-unicorns exhibited magical abilities.
And because the ancients had no slag, it’s called a ‘strap-on’ which causes quite a humerous scene when they first give it to him because Luna refuses to say it as Discord laughs his ass off.
That was in the second chapter, this picture is from chapter… it’s somewhere in the 70’s i forgot which one exactly. Over the course of the story, Soarin is taught how to use and control his magic (with much difficulty because he’s a pegasus and is an adult, making it harder for him to grasp something completely foreign to him.) but not without a few mishaps, having lost control of it and/or gone berserk once or twice and had to be subdued.
So Soarin most definitely does not have it easy xD and while he has access to powerful magic it’s hard for him to use it without hurting himself and sometimes those around him, making him hesitant unless he has full confidence in the scenario or situation.
like i said, this is the short version xD there’s a hell of a lot i left out, but this story is going on 750K words right now (It has 4 arcs planned. I’m currently working through the third. Thats also not including the two shorter fics 52K and 106K that eventually led to me sitting down, planning out, and writing this long epic. i might be a little insane xD)
… What is the item and what does it do?
indeed and the reason he’s wearing it makes him far from being overpowered or perfect (just the opposite actually xD)
indeed. Someone is butthurt about the popularity of soarindash.
@Blissey1
I’ve seen people use mary sue to describe any character they think is such. Gary stu is what i usually hear for guys, but ive seen mary used for both genders.
Unlikely, there have been several BP comments against Soarin’ on Soarindash images as of recently. Most of them using a facepalm emote. In fact, there are two in this comment section already. That guy is going to end up hurting his face.
dude, he said “mary sue”. that BP was talking about RD, not soarin
lol, have you even read the story? Obviously not. You don’t even know why he’s wearing the horn. Based on your short sighted comment, im gonna assume you think ive turned him into an alicorn. Believe me, it’s far from that, and he’s far from happy that he has to wear it.
and might i ask what makes you say that?
HNNNN-
you havent read my fic have you? xD
He’s the new Sombra.
