If I am to proceed with these edits, I really need to learn how to shade.

Point taken, but two things; One, CBT still had some issues with shading (most obvious being the ‘patch’ on Rarity’s upper torso what’s apparently involving the joint of her leg, but comes across as somewhat rather inconsistent, but another example being her mane and tail).
And two… I don’t know who “AH” is… so now what’s the procedure? :/
You do realize the mane, hooves, stockings, etc were drawn by CBT while the diaper was put on by the editor? The editor is the one who can’t shade, not CBT.
Sharp-looking features from her hair to her hooves, beautiful details along her stockings that contrast well with the “diaper edit”…
… And yet you still have trouble shading.
… That’s actually a positive; you KNOW you still have plenty of room for improvement, and are lucky enough to know exactly how you need to improve. I sense plenty more from you… and hope my senses are correct.

You’ve both made some good points but the major point is that some artists find these actually against their preferences.
I don’t mind though. I made the art to be enjoyed even if it’s not my tastes that it falls into.
In my experience most artists don’t give permission anyway.
And futa is exactly like diapers - some people like them while many don’t. Editing a futa to be a normal female is done to make the pic appeal to more people; editing a pic to have a diaper on it is the same. It’s not about the artist not being good, more like about them being good enough to deserve the attention of idiots like us.
The thing is most artists find it insulting when people edit their art. To quote one artist that was tired of their futa being turned into normal females: “It’s like they decided it wasn’t good enough the way I made it so they decided to change mine instead of make their own” (probably not an exact quote since I’m trying to remember it, but still the same claim).
Not getting permission shows a complete lack of respect for the artist and his art. Especially if it’s to put a diaper on them.
And if you’ve ever read comments on youtube, DA, FA, Tumblr and Inkbunny pages you’d know a lot of people ask permission to edit or use things before they do it.
…okay actually youtube comments are a crapshoot.
permission schmermission
who does that?
(not the op btw)
