- She owns/takes ponies for rides in the hot air balloon
- She was dressed as a bee for Nightmare Night (and logically bees shouldn’t be able to fly)
- She was driving a helicopter in: Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3
She’s an Earth Pony who is known for being in the air, so yeah, that makes me think: Wing Envy.”
I couldn’t agree more. I imagine if she magically got real wings, she prefer flying through flying machines; and maybe made her own wings.
Precisely! Honestly, people don’t give Earth Ponies enough credit. Nor do ponies. in the S6 premiere Pinkie said Alicorns had the magic of a Unicorn and the wings of a Pegasus, and I was just like, “…And the strength of an Earth Pony! Why are you short-selling your own tribe, Pinkie?!”
Sadly, Earth Pony magic is much more subtle and passive, and I think fans and even the writers forget that.

It took me a moment to process this, for the reason that that’s not actually true. It is in fact perfectly reasonable that bumblebees fly, but you have to know how their wings function while flapping - which we didn’t have when that little rumor was started.
Per the discussion below, I think it’s perfectly fine to have ponies wanting to be able to do things they can’t biologically do. It likely happens in all three major tribes.
Cherry Berry is not a representative of every earth pony. If I wished I could jump high, would you instinctively start to believe it was the wish of every white boy that they could jump high? (I realize me trying to persuade an Anon with lesser grammatical prowess is supposedly meaningless, but whatever. X3 )
She’s a passionate flyer, and a pretty gifted cherry pony! Why not adore her for that?
