He saved the Crystal Empire from King Sombra by delivering the Crystal Heart and saved thousands of ponies in the Equestria Games. What has he got for that? A burned down library that he loved and 6 ponies who outshined him in the next episode. Talk about disrespect dammit. Sure he has a throne now but who knows if he’s even gonna play a bigger role in the next season? That’s really my only hope for season 5 besides a Rainbow Dash solo. Come to think of it give Spike his damn solo already. The Cloudsdale Anthem was more satirical than serious.

Spike looks like he needs the other throne.

While it’s unlikely Spike will receive significantly better treatment from the writers, I like to think the show can surprised us once in awhile. I certainly didn’t expect the Equestria Games episode to basically be entirely about Spike, let alone allowing him to save the day for once.

Well he deserves it because he’s part of the main cast and is a huge asset to the team. He deserves a lot more than he’s gotten. The only person to ever humble themselves before him for his actions was Cadance. Which is part of the reason I love her.
