He has a tendency to speak with as much cryptic metaphors as Vulcan Raven from Metal Gear. He’s pretty cool, though.
All I know about that guy is that he’s a smooth devil vampire who fights a giant Frankenstein in front of a giant fetus.
Eh, at least he didn’t act like Jedah Dohma. That would’ve been worse XD
I also really fucking hate overly mysterious villains. It REALLY fucking annoyed me how fucking obscure Young Xeanorth and his band of merry idiots were being, by his third appearance I wanted either Sora or Riku to grab him by the collar and go “WILL YOU FUCKING SAY FUCKING SOMETHING THAT MAKES ANY FUCKING SENSE?”.
I mean, Jesus fuck, if you want to play up the fact that Xeanorth is in control of everything and Sora is playing right into his trap, have him not appear in the story, it’d be a lot more efficient if there were just hints of his existence, rather than just him saying that Sora’s fucked in a real obscure way.
Those are my exact thoughts on the whole plot.
And he succeeded thusly and trolled any and all protagonists while treating his own ‘allies’ like dirt when they die.
Of course, he was stopped by Ichigo pulling a Hail Mary, followed by Urahara, but I’ll leave that to you to read (or watch) how that happens.
I never got that far in Bleach so I don’t know who Aizen is, but I hear people say his name a lot when referencing really convoluted plans. I’m assuming he had some really insanely complicated plan at one point in the series?
@invelios
The plot and how Xehanort planned things made me think of Aizen from Bleach.
I mean, seriously…[spoiler]using his own members as potential clones/host bodies to prolong his existence in order to forge the X-blade?[/spoilers]
I say Aizen because of his amazing planning, but he’s got his own unique setup.
Oh, I was thinking of his heartless’ plan, not Xemnas’. Yeah, I got the impression that the first organization wasn’t even supposed to be the final one, he was just using it to find out which members were suitable like Isa/Siax. The thing is I didn’t find that surprising since the way Xemnas was acting at the end of KH 2 made it rather obvious he never cared about the regaining a heart plan, and that he was using everyone else, at least that’s what it seemed like to me. 3DS just helped clarify what he was using them for.
Well, that was the impression that I got “You didn’t even come close to stopping me, I planned everything all along, all the bullshit in Kingdom Hearts 2 actually helped me since I realized that the original Organization XIII was unfit for my plans”
Hmm.. maybe I remember the ending differently, but that’s not what I remember happening. I thought the new plan was just a backup plan he made incase neither of the others worked. I only was the ending once though so I could have missed something. I was going to do a second playthrough on Critical but I got distracted by other games.
My problem is that it basically rendered the struggles of the previous games completely moot. It ultimately felt like everything that Sora and Riku fought and sacrificed for, and the sacrifices of the BBS Trio was all for naught, Xeanorth’s plans aren’t even slightly altered, and in a way, you helped him along.
It just pisses me off when the villain’s plan is just unrealistically well thought-out. I can get being manipulative, I can get being smart and tricking your enemies, but when getting your fortress decimated, the artificial Kingdom Hearts shattered, and your organization destroyed, and then prancing around going “EVERYTHING WENT ACCORDING TO THE PLAN”, you really trigger my bullshit alarm.
I liked it as a KH game. The plot wasn’t that bad, the only problem I really have is the whole time travel thing, i felt it was weird and unnecessary. The rest of the plot points of the game would have been fine without it. It a world of sleep anyways so why not have the other Xehanorts be part of the dream and have some new people as members of the new Org XIII. Other than that no I didn’t feel anything was really wrong with the plot of that game.
A little dicey, yeah, but I liked the game nonetheless.
Specially since the Kingdom Hearts segment isn’t all that great. Because the plot is shit.
