Some uncanny similarities:
-> Starlight Glimmer can be abbreviated to SG, which is also the abbreviation of Singapore, the country in which the creator of Parcly Taxel is located.
-> Both Starlight and Parcly have had difficult pasts and both have straight eyelashes.
-> Parcly has been established as a close friend of Twilight; from the cutie mark it appears that Starlight is too.
-> Parcly started out as a unicorn before ascending, like Twilight. Starlight is depicted in the show as a unicorn but an image from a toy fair (>>826368) shows her as an alicorn.
(Of course, this is likely to be one huge coincidence.)
