My submission for mlp-atg-alumni’s prompt for this week, A greedy pony/a pony striking it rich
I just now realized how awful the scale is on this.
So, explanation of my headcanon. I recently watched the previous generations of MLP. I skipped most of G2 because it was super boring and I liked a lot of the characters in G1 and G3. I’m super terrible at making OCs, so I like the idea of using characters from other gens as children or other family for G4 characters. (ie. in this picture, Sky Wishes from G3 as Twilight’s daughter)
I have absolutely no idea what to do with Twilight shipping wise. I like her with Flash Sentry, but it seems very superficial right now, so I’m just not sure about it.
In redesigning Sky Wishes for G4, I made her a pegasus. Then when I was looking for a ref to get the colors from, I found an image of her blind bag figure and trading card. As a pegasus. Am I clairvoyant or what?
When I saw the prompt, the first thing I thought of was someone becoming a new parent. Then I thought of Twilight, the character whose days of beginning motherhood would be the most stressful. Having a baby throws everything orderly about life right out the window. Twilight, with her OCD, perfectionism and tendency to panic attacks would be blindsided by motherhood. I can see her as the mom that has read every book there is on every child-rearing subject. If any of you watched the TV show House, I think it would be like when Cuddy is first getting used to her adopted daughter and pulls a used diaper out of her purse when the child services guy drops by for a visit.
But then, in one of the rare quiet moments, when she feels the warmth of her daughter against her and watches her chest rise and fall as she sleeps, Twilight will realize that all the chaos, all the sleepless nights, all the diapers and imperfectness her life has fallen to is worth it; because this little person is the most beautiful, most precious, perfect thing in the world.

Artist said he screwed up the scale. Though I suppose we could say she’s a preemie.
