It’s not the oldest gag in cinema for nothing.
If hose have some sort nozzle, it can and will get littered with rusted bits of metal. Not everyone have ideally clear plumbing system in their city.
(Then again, better unscrew the nozzle prior to sticking your eye in it)
I guess it comes more down to instincts then lodgic, something stops working inspect it at the place of last known activity.
A hose is pretty much one way why would something travel through a hose only to stop at the exit?
How did it get through the tap if it can get through the hose?
Also, clear hoses.
