I’m thinking Spike went through at least some early education during his time with the Sparkles in Canterlot, plus a slightly accelerated course to prep him for page duty.
I can’t help but think that if they do that, it would be easy to leave Spike out of the rest of Season 5. They can just write it off as “oh, he was in school” and not have him show up at all. Besides he has been with Twilight for years, whether or not she gave him a proper education, you still pick up things if you stay around some place long enough.
But that’s just me.

Let’s just say he was home-Schooled in the castle by many private tutors eh
exactly my point; was he home-schooled? And by who? All we do know is that he lives/works in a library in the show
Did Spike even have a formal education?
