This isn’t a mouthpiece if he isn’t the one saying it. The image is making a statement about Flash. And you can’t just arbitrarily decide that this is somehow a false statement either.

Nice way to view it, but I don’t think that’s how Hasbro and DHX are developing things. Guess we’ll see more in EqG3.

I support this. Though I am a fan of the ship and wouldn’t mind seeing it actually develop into something, I wouldn’t mind them just being friends. Who knows: maybe if they were introduced as friends first, it could have gradually grown overtime. Of course, I’m open to many things and I would be okay with him just being a reoccurring friend.

Will that happen? Probably not, but that’s what fanfiction is for.

First glimpse of Flash Sentry for me: A love interest! How cute… Didn’t know and did not expect that the rest of the fandom thinks differently.

After hearing about Flash Sentry: I think Twilight and Flash would be cute. Flashlight does sound like a funny name

As I start to write about Flash Sentry as well as looking at the basis of guys other cartoons that feature girls: Hmm…

From that day onwards, I start to see Flash Sentry as more of a normal support character (which his role was driven to a background pony) and less than a love interest. I could also say that his character (apart from being a ‘nice guy’ as a human or ‘high-ranking Royal Guard’ as a pony) is more of the “Silent Protagonist” like in Persona and SMT. Though I still do like Flashlight art, the idea of them connecting together for me is no longer about romance but just as normal friends and even just Princess and Guard. Just for experience and a lesson on how to cope with the opposite gender.

Concerned but powerless
Description from source, in case someone wants to read it:
“You know Flash, I use to call you my guilty pleasure but I’m not going to do that any more.

I’m not going to hate something just because a great majority of people do much less a simple character who’s crime is being “too nice” or “too good hearted”

As if being a good person is a crime.

UPDATE

A little question in my tumblr made me elaborate more about my concept and my opinion about this whole “let’s hate this character” deal so I’m going to post my response here to because I think it’s important.

what are you talking about, he’s not a male lead, he’s just a character. Hell, canonicaly he’s barely even a love interest. And he is necessary, Twilight is a girl pony or not and a young one, this characters are influential to young girls and in a young girl’s life there will be other individuals that she will look upon in a different light.

She views him as a friend, but that’s the tricky part, a lot of people in their young teenage years has had that one friend who they thought of in a different way, even a little bit.

He’s not a love interest, he’s an interesting experience to her, a friend and a boy, nothing more.

Friendship can be bumpy and difficult and sometimes it evolves in to love.

Friendship is a form of love.

He’s necessary because he represents something girls will eventually will have to face in their lives. That time when you’re not sure about what you feel or why are you so affected by this particular individual.

Don’t you get it? Flash is there to serve as a tool for Twilight to mature. He doesn’t need to be her love interest in order to cause an effect on her.

She doesn’t love him, she just likes him, not even as a boy but as a person.

Little girls watch these movies, up until now this relationship between these two characters serves as example to them that it’s OK, that what they may feel for a certain someone may not be love, but that the feeling is still there and that it’s normal to feel that. It’s part of growing up.

Flash is a step for Twilight, an experience.”
