King Sombra would never received a cutie mark. Just look back at King Sombra cackling after rising up on a Crystal pillar in Cutie Re-Mark part 1 and cackling after destroying/shattering the Tree and Elements of Harmony in The Beginning of the End part 2. You’ll see why King Sombra was truly a blank flank in pony form. I think it’s because he’s truly in umbrum before turning into a ponie.
