It is not true. We must understand each character. Both evil and good. Because everyone has goals for their work. There is no reason not to sympathize with Opaline and let her go because she is evil. How can we be happy while someone on the other side of the world is lonely and sad? Probably for what we have done. If we don’t care about evil people, we are evil ourselves.

Yes. Just like Starlight. Maybe that’s why the special name of the next season is Secrets of starlight . The last name Opaline means secrets.

Also, in regards to that last comment: Opaline is a villain. She is not meant to be sympathized with any more than any other villain in fiction. I mean, are you ever meant to sympathize with the Joker from DC? Thanos from Marvel? Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars? No, you are not. They are meant to be the source of conflict for the protagonists and give them something that they need to overcome to reach the resolution. Opaline is like that-a giant source of conflict for the entire Mane Six, especially Misty and Sunny.

You shouldn’t sympathize with her too much, for that reason.

So…in other words, a similar reason to why Starlight created the Our Town cult, got rid of cutie marks, and tried to make everypony think that they were all ‘equal’? Because she thought that it was the only way to get anypony to respect her?

Opaline has more in common with Starlight than I thought. Guess that explains why she is also stealing cutie marks now.

This is the reason why she wants to rule. She wants everyone to obey her, she thinks that if everyone is afraid of her, they will respect her more because of this fear. Maybe Opaline sees this as a kind of love. She thinks that if everyone is afraid of her, she will not be alone anymore.

She still feels lonely despite Misty. For example, putting a name on a hair comb is a sign that Opaline considered a hair brush as a friend and companion in order to not be alone.

Another point is people’s words. Probably in the past other ponies were afraid of Opaline because she is fire and this made her think she was really scary. Because the words of others influenced her.

Note that most people tend to focus on the negative qualities of a person rather than the positive ones

Honestly, Opaline’s actions don’t line up with that supposed ‘desire’. She only wants control over everypony. Nothing else matters, at least not to her. She said herself, she wants everypony to fear her. That doesn’t give room for hecking companionship, background pony.

I think the only reason Opaline would ever be angry about Misty’s absence is if she needed her for her grand plan (like how she needed her to capture Sparky). As I said before, Opaline doesn’t care about Misty or her feelings. She uses her as a tool, and when she can’t use her as a tool she gets angry. That’s just the way Opaline is.

I don’t think so. Whenever Misty is not around, she gets very angry. In episode 5, when Misty left, he told her to come back soon (Well, almost)

I mean, yeah, it’s certainly likely, especially once Opaline is defeated.

Then yeah, they’ll all be living in Maretime Bay, with only Hitch not living in the Brighthouse (pretty sure he still lives in the sheriff station)

I think Opaline will figure it out. Yes, she was kind of an idiot for not realizing that sooner. On the other hand, I don’t think Opaline cares either way since she doesn’t really like Misty all that much to begin with. To Opaline, Misty is nothing more than a tool, no better than her own mane brush. So her absences were seen as trivial toward her overall goals.

I think it is meant to be more permanent than that. This is effectively her way of joining Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, Zipp, and Hitch to form the G5 vesion of the Mane Six, after all. She will become a much more important member of the group going forward (as if Chapter 5 didn’t make that apparent enough, given she was in all 6 episodes alongside the other Mane Six ponies).

But doesn’t Opaline doubt her?
Although she herself allows Misty to do these things. As a result, it is his own fault. 😅

She has a room there, to occasionally spend the night - she also sometimes stays in her old room in Opaline’s Dark Castle, to be an effective double agent.
