Well thank you, Jawolf, both for the kind words and the very succinct points. I might be blowing this out of proportion, and knowing myself that wouldn’t surprise me. I guess I haven’t seen anyone actually say or do anything truly conceding, nor has anyone been like “more more MORE!” So, I might so some really light foalcon like the above Pansting pic and the other version of this. I mean, people do enjoy them, and if it does provide that harmless outlet, well, all the better.
Personally I feel that what you’re doing isn’t harmful, I mean, it’s not real children, no one is getting hurt at all. I say you keep doing what you like. As for that slippery slope, well well I doubt it, if someone looks at a picture and thinks to go and do it to a child then they already had problems to begin with. I for one like the foal art you do, I find it far more cute than sexy in all honesty, even with the panties and the pantsings and all that, very well done.
I don’t know, I do feel the artist bears at least some responsibility. After all, the image would not exist if not for them, nor would it be public if not for them. Some of the pieces like >>814910 I’m okay with because there’s more than just “SEXY FOLS OMG” to it, but the skirt pic was just blatant and kind of soulless. I mean, it was fun to make, don’t get me wrong, but…
Yeah, that’s another problem too. I actually really like kids (hence why the Crusaders and especially Sweetie come up so much) so there’s something of a conflict of interests there. I’d never actually do anything, trust me on that, it’s one of my greatest fears, but still, something of a problem.
I can understand your reasoning for being hesitant to post explicit art of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. The way I see it is that you’re producing the material for artistic purposes and you’re not responsible for what other people do with your works as long as it doesn’t directly affect you.
I’m not ashamed to say that I view foalcon and lolicon for it’s sexual nature but as far as ever doing anything to an actual child? I can’t even think about it without shuddering. I can not stand to be around children in real life. They are just so annoying and frankly childish in my opinion.
I’m kind of on the fence about it right now. My hope is that I could provide a harmless outlet for both myself and others, but I fear I may also be encouraging… rather more harmful outlets in some people. Part of me says “It’s just polygons of fictional characters, fictional characters who aren’t even human. Go for it!” While another side says “Yeah, but what could they lead to?”
I fear it might be a slippery slope, and I’d rather not be responsible in same part for an actual, living, breathing child to be hurt.
Does that mean you don’t have any of your foalcon material anymore? I’m sure there are people (like myself) that would love to see it considering how good your work is.
Yeah, it’s gone. I’m having second thoughts on my foalcons after some of the comments I got, so I asked the mods to remove it. Getting a little creepy for my tastes.
