Turns out King Sombra was actually a pretty chill dude who just had a perpetual sore throat from singing Happy Birthday for all the little foals in the Crystal Empire, and the Sisters only attacked him because some jerkbag with the username sombrasuxx6969 sent them a tweet saying that Sombra had nude photos of them.

One is a completely incompetent leader who is constantly sending other, younger citizens to do their dirty work for them, always loses when it comes to direct confrontations, yet somehow constantly keeps a majority of citizens convinced that everything is perfectly fine.
 
The other is Princess Celestia.
