Thanks. It makes sense in that way, though again the Bible does say something like “A sly tongue can cut faster than a knife”.
All indications I’ve ever read say “blasphemy” is derived from the Middle English, Old French, Latin, and Greek words of “Injure” and/or “Utter, talk, or speak”; the case of Greek being more the case of a merger of “injure” and “speak” than the other cases.
So it’s more: “Spoken harm” than not.
Sigh. I read somewhere the word “Blasphemy” literally means “Bodily Harm” though I didn’t find the page again when I looked. Is there another place to find it? Surely.
