Just read the description in the source “Almost 17= 1,699 years in Equestria” I assume they mean in Siren years. That sort of makes their backstory sad that means they were banished around the time they were at the mental age of 6-7. Just kids trying through trial and error to survive in a new world.
Also the wetting the bed joke works better if you go by the idea they have been banished for over a thousand years. Then again as aquatic being the world was basically their toilet.
I think this is her revenge for what Sony did to her on the ski-lift.
