It’s mostly just me.
 
It bugged me because of the scene that took place right before it. Twilight thinks that Spike is mature enough to decide for himself and encourages him to go out there and discover his roots, with her, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity are all saying goodbye. It was such a touching scene.
 
But the moment he’s gone….
 
“We’re following him, right?”  
“Of course.”
 
Such a moment killer! (And those fake smiles made it worse.)  
I remember myself seeing that for the first time. I took a nearby pillow and punched it multiple times in anger.

…Why? Of all things in the episode (and I liked the episode, though it definitely has problems), why does this infuriate you?

This scene from Dragon Quest infuriated me. >:(
