IMO Spike wouldn’t work as a Pyro for two reasons:

I never said anything about in-game models. For that matter, any of these characters would screw up every hitbox if they were in-game models, unless you made them anthropomorphized monsters, or something.

I maybe one of the very few that supports AJ/Demo

The only thing I would do different from this setup is replace Zecora with Derpy Hooves. The potential for lolz will never stop.

Because attempting to make an in-game model for that would fuck up the hitboxes IMMENSELY. At least with dream Spike he’s relatively close to the same size. That’s the only reason I can think of, anyway.

Honestly, I’d rather see Derpy as the demoman. Zecora does kind of seem “she’s black”

Whenever I see that lineup of like  
Angel as soldier and spike as pyro and twilight as demo (seriously?) pinkie as heavy, applejack as engi (at least that’s the same) TRIXIE AS MEDIC!?!? Fluttershy as sniper?
 
It’s like they’re taking all the wrong aspects of it. Yes demoman can lay clever sticky traps. But character wise he does not. He’s a bomb throwing drunk.  
Medic likes supporting the team and is not a braggart.  
It bugs the shit out of me to see spike as pyro.  
Angel as soldier? Really?
 
This. The TF2MLPMods lineup is perfect.  
Spike is soldier. Pinkie Pyro because it’s pinkie. Zecora is ok. Big Mac seems fine as heavy. Twilight would be so much more well-fitted for sniper. Same with Fluttershy being medic as a no brainer.

I personally have Derpy as the Soldier. It just seems to fit.

I do think the “Ethnic fish out of water” approach to Zecora as demo makes a bit of sense. Him being “a black scottish cyclops” is brought up a bit in the TF2niverse, either in meet the demoman or in domination lines.
 
I suppose what really bothers me is that Spike is the muscled dream spike.  
The one that exists in Spikes mind, and only for 30 seconds of one episode.
 
Why not something like this?
 

Zecora as Demoman is kinda offensive, because it implies that a black person is closest to another black person despite any similar personality traits. At least alcoholism is a trait that can be shared by choice and not by appearance or ethnicity.  
The Pyro one is pretty accurate, though, but I don’t remember Spike ever using fire as a weapon.

If we’re being honest, Leiden, none of the ponies are perfect analogs of the psychotic mercs that are the TF2 classes. For the most part, artists just base it off certain common aspects between the characters. The Demoman could be Zecora because they’re both black and ethnic fishes out of water, or it could be Berry Punch because they’re both drunk. Pyro could be Pinkie, because they both have a Sugar Bowl view of the world (and because Pinkie Pyro rolls off the tongue), or Spike, since he breathes fire already. So on and so forth.
 
I don’t meant to state the obvious or to imply that your criticisms aren’t valid, but, what could honestly be considered a closer, truer depiction than the other?

I still don’t quite agree with the lineup of characters here.
 
I mean, first of all, I’m totally fine with Spike being the soldier, but why is her the dream version of Spike that appeared in one episode? Why no just regular Spike?
 
Also, Zecora is the demoman because she’s black? I mean, we have a resident town drunk just sitting around, you can’t use Berry Punch?
 
Lastly, Big Mac as Heavy. I mean, size-wise, he’s perfect. But personality-wise, he’s a bit of a stretch from the loud and proud Heavy Weapons Guy.
 
All in all, it is a very well drawn picture.  
4/5 would view again.
