That is really aggravating to read. Everyone who draws humanized Discord in a way that apparently doesn’t agree with you is only doing so because they lack imagination? Who are you to even say that? It’s one thing to disagree with the way someone does something, but that is such a pretentious justification.

They depict him that way becouse of lack of imagination. They basically try to draw human De Lancie. If Discord is based on Q from Next Generation then he at least should be depicted in age of younger De Lancie, around 30-35. Yet it’s mostly 50-60 with white hair, even though his canon mane is black. His pony form from Season 4 finale surely seem a lot younger.

Be that as it is and despite his age not being explicitly stated, the way he looks, acts, and sounds is meant associate him with someone older. You’re right in that he’s ageless, and with his magic, he could probably be any age he wanted, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a specific associated with him. Here, he looks like a young teenager, and thinking about a teenager with his voice and mannerism makes something of a disconnect.
 
Of course, most of this is my personal reasoning, but there is a reason a lot of the humanized art of Discord depicts him as an older man. And also, this artist can handle facial variation very well and has done an older Discord before, but here, she decided to go for a fairly generic young-anime-protagonist look for both of them.

He is ageless, he can be at any age. Advanced age would mean that his body becoming weaker and that he would at one point die, which doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s also why he wasn’t in Equestria Girls. He can’t be measured in human age. Only his voice actor.

Ah, they both look way too young. This really bothers me.
