I need a chronometric device that uses fluctuations in magical energy as a power source. I know they’re unreliable because they will register any fluctuations at all as a change in time, but they’re perfect for tracking down exotic magic types when coupled with a tourmaline-powered field generator. How long would it take you to either get one in your workshop or make one yourself if I ordered one today?

If I’m wiring a load that pulls 18 amps, what gauge wire would i need to use, running from a 12 volt source 8 feet away?
 
also, I’m looking to weld two pieces of half inch steel plates together with an arc welder, but I don’t know what kind of electrode or at what amperage I should be using, as I am new to welding.

Six months ago, I was in the park and saw you, Rarity, and Derpy all cram yourselves into a police box which then vanished. Half an hour later the three of you were back, but acting like you’d been gone over a year. I don’t understand what happened. Also, Rarity has mentioned that you, she, and Derpy have each saved the other two’s lives on many occasions, but won’t say more.
