Well I think this applies to many bad habits, including things like biting your nails that don’t have a long term impact. It can be seen as something besides an analogy for drug addiction since in this case phenomnomemnons couldn’t do any permanent damage to Pinkie, it seems that before she would just end up being sick for a few days and perhaps have a few other side effects normally associated with candy that she normally doesn’t have.

Actually, considering that she seems to cope quite well the rest of the year, I think it’s more a case that she couldn’t resist eating phenomnomenons when they were present rather than the more typical addiction. It’s more like people who have a food they like but know they shouldn’t have too much, and as a result feel compelled to eat it whenever possible when they do have it to make the most of it.

In other words, it’s more like having a problematic association with a food than anything else, to me at least

Honestly, I think the comics have pretty good artwork most of the time. (I especially like Ben Bates & Andy Price’s works.) I even like the exaggerated expressions some of the artists do sometimes.

Plus, it’s not like the show doesn’t have it’s own fair-share of crazy facial-expressions, and silly moments. People used to complain about “Lesson Zero,” I recall for being “to crazy.”

This is the kind of art that goes into the comics? Suddenly I feel glad for ignoring them.
