the usual effects of halting the aging process is once it stops, all that time comes rushing back. even though they probably won’t do that, it’s still a horrible possibility for EG3 (sirens probably live long in equestria BUT in the human world, they might be dust now if it’s true that the gems are keeping them young and if they got sent in EG world without some time dilation in effect (1,000 years in equestria but only a couple of months in EG world).
I don’t think adaptation was even necessary, they’ve probably always been fine with human food. Sonata certainly seems to find tacos exciting.
But as for keeping them eternally young, it’s possible. If they age without their gems, then rather than dealing with starvation, it’s more like they can’t artificially prolong their life now.
maybe hate/emotion eating is the thing that keeps them young? otherwise, why bother doing it at all if they can adapt to human food
