Majesty is really G1 Trixie Lulamoon, but without speaking in the 3rd person.

I’m really hoping that this ask-blog continues. I love the eerieness of this scene, a childish rhyme turning a timberwolf to ash…

I like that G1 comic with Vegeta the fabulous wizard pirate. If more of G1 is crazy like that I should check it out.

…which of course gets her seen as the single most badass pony (and actually, she and Twilight - her version of Twilight - are the only two serious contenders for that title.) However, if you only think of her for that you get this idea of “Wolverine after he jumped the shark, in pony form!” that is all kinds of wrong. Of course, the one who delivers punishments and such is far from being all she is, but somehow, the times she did things teaching a lesson in manners via a small prank, or giving exposition, or organizing a party, or the times was a villain but she, like Tia, gave exposition and someone else had to go Do Stuff, or the time there was a villain but Majesty just spun him around a lot and he said “all right, you can have your stupid horseshoes back!” just don’t get the same attention. Just like if you know one thing about comic Applejack, it’s the one time she wasted that dude. (Oh, we’ve got that! >> 446450 )
 
Of course, in this tumblr, she’s basically treated as having been inexplicably yanked into the Everfree Forest, with no idea what’s going on, and all these “voice” calling themselves readers that she thinks are a figment of her imagination are asking her all kinds of weird questions. I can’t say this is that far from what the real Majesty would act like under those circumstances. As one of the actual comic character’s fans, I’m enjoying this and snickering at just how crazy a day she’s having and watching it grate on her.
 
Still, if you want to know why we love Majesty, know first that this tumblr’s version isn’t what she’s like. Like I said, imagine Celestia being pretty much just as she is… then imagine at least once a season, instead of just providing exposition but not being able to really do anything, she got to cut loose and do the kind of things we hear about her having done a thousand years ago.

The character in the actual comic is basically Celestia and the way it would be if she were allowed to cut loose more than just in the backstory a thousand years ago. She’s every bit as motherly to the ponies as Tia, but a few times, she’s used her powers of transmutation to sentence the enemies of ponykind to some rather nasty, permanent fates. Though (also like Celestia; ‘To the mooooon!’) she has a reputation in fandom for doing it at the drop of a hat that is undeserved.

…I just checked the description of this character on the Tumblr. No idea what is so cool about her… She sounds like a cross between a Mary Sue, a total git (Arnold Rimmer level) and Lobo. Seriously, “a murderous magical powerhouse that can do anything better than any character in G4”? Makes me want to stick a “yum yum!” sign on her back and push her in Tirek’s general direction. Heck, the description says “more motherly than Celestia”, but she sounds more like Blueblood’s snootier cousin.
