I think people don’t get it, even when throwing up the right cliché.
 
This isn’t what happens when you’re “too intelligent”. This is what happens when you’re too intelligent to be capable of admitting failure. Not just any failure, the worst kind; at least to someone who defines themselves by their intelligence. Failure to comprehend.
 
My conception of “dusk shine” is a realistic snapping point. A failure to comprehend. To be able to follow all the steps and yet still not understand. You have every puzzle piece but no picture. Just noise.
