I really hope for a reconciliation between these two. And then she can finally reenter the Wonderbolts.

Actually, the picture says it’s for Pegastrike: Flying Horse Battalion, which was a scrolling shoot ’em up idea I had for awhile featuring MLP characters. But after having difficulties trying to program it, and the storyline getting way too dark, complex and epic to fit in a retro-style 2D shmup, Idolatry was born as a non-game alternative.

Unfortunately because I absolutely suck at writing fanfics this fanon universe currently just exists in meta-universe lore form, and has yet to be turned into a proper fanfic. However, Hokari does have a pretty in-depth backstory I wrote for her, as well as my first drawing of her, both of which can be seen here
 
The fanon universe is called Idolatry, and it’s actually a crossover with Starlight Run, my original sci-fi IP. The Dominion of Zecha are the main villains in that series as well, and they are awesome.

Oh my god, the feels. It reminds me of the ending of my fanon project, only mine ends with Lightning Dust dying in Rainbow’s hooves after she forgives her. Basically LD was the main antagonist in my story, whose desire for revenge after her expulsion from the academy led her to joining a theocratic, militaristic “galactic empire” called the Dominion of Zecha who were invading Equestria at the time to mine for resources. The Zechite scientists turned her into a cyborg supersoldier renamed Hokari Ibirajin, who rapidly became the Dominion’s most feared soldier, but deep down was in agony from being forced to kill her own kind. And after losing the final battle with Rainbow Dash, she remembers her real identity and apologizes to RD before dying peacefully.

LD: I’m … I’m sorry.  
RD: … I forgive you. [hug]  
LD: I just … I just lost my head out there. I wanted to prove that I was the best, that I wasn’t some second-rate chump. Instead, I screwed it all up. Badly.  
RD: Lightning Dust, you don’t need to prove you’re the best. It doesn’t matter if you’re an awesome flyer or a weak one. We’re still a team and always have each other’s back, no matter what. And don’t sweat it; we all make mistakes.  
LD: Thanks. You make a good friend.  
RD: That’s how I roll.  
[shared laughter]
