@Beau Skunky
I changed my mind. Rather than beat up Palutena in Viridi’s clothes (as I made proper closure so I no longer hate Viridi), I’m beating up Shulk (as everyone here will NOT shut up about his “feeling it” catchphrase).
@SuperFlame
Indeed, the 3DS version they just reuse the SNES-style Brawl stage. Not complainin’, because it was kinda nice to have old stages return. My only gripe is, they didn’t bring back any N64 SSB stages… Apparently, the N64 “Kongo Jungle” stage is returning in the WiiU version surprisingly. (And is oddly the only returning N64 stage.)
A li’l “update” on my glitch I mentioned, apparently I don’t have that Excitebike trophy yet, (I counted up how many trophies I have currently, and they match the same ammount in my “Smash Stats,” and don’t remember getting the Excitebike trophy) yet it still oddly appears like a ghost in “Hoard” view mode.
So hopefully that means I can still obtain the trophy if I don’t have it yet.
Oddly, I think I encountered a glitch/problem in my copy of SSB for 3DS that nobody else in the universe seems to of encountered yet. When viewing my trophies in “hoard” mode, (which lets you view them all at once) I can see an “Excitebike” trophy, that oddly doesn’t appear in my gallery. (Where you view trophies individually.)
It’s a major bummer ‘cause I like that game, and as a compleshinist I hate glitches like that prevent you from getting an item in-game…
I contacted Nintendo about it, and such, but they weren’t much help. (Maybe I should’ve suggested sending my cartridge in to have them look at it, and maybe fix it) and I don’t want to delete my save data, as I have alot of stuff on it just for one trophy. :( (Even if it is my beloved childhood Excitebike.)
I’m hoping if I can get another copy of the trophy (sense you can get duplicates in the game, like previous SSB games) or see it in the shop, if it’ll appear in the game… But so far I can’t seem to get another copy of the Excitebike trophy.
@HighRollerHydra
While the new SSB for 3DS & WiiU has an impressive roster, there’s nothing wrong with some people missing a few old characters like the “Ice Climbers.” I like them, as I said, but I can do without them for the current SSB games.
I hope they come back in the next-gen SSB game though.
Frankly, I think people were more “butthurt,” and overreacting more about Mewtwo not being in. (Until a certain announcement, that is.) Heck, some were mad he wasn’t in Brawl for years.
@HighRollerHydra
If you focus on keeping yourself alive, she should make it out just fine, and you can still fight on should she perish, even if at half power.
@Beau Skunky
Of COURSE that’s why they were cut. Having 8 full-size characters on one screen was an issue. Even though they worked perfectly on the Wii U, they still wanted both versions to have the exact same roster. Just move on and play as someone else, like say…Pac-Man.
@HighRollerHydra
Eh, not really, it’s still possible to kick butt, even if you lost your partner in a match. I can last a long time with one Ice Climber. (I wonder if the “playing as 2 characters” gimmick is why they wouldn’t work on the 3DS. Maybe they could’ve just had you play as one instead.)
@PonyPon
I like the “Ice Climbers” to, in fact I actually like their NES game to, and would like a sequel/remake of it.
(Maybe something like “Pac Man Arrangement,” and “Mario Bros. Classic” in “Super Mario Advance.” Like they could add new features to it, like boss battles, improve the jump physics, and such.)
@Beau Skunky
I mean, well, Wario’s doing his butt-scratching animation next to them. It’s my pot-shot to the people that were bawling over the Ice Climbers being cut.
@HighRollerHydra
I have the “Ice Climbers” trophy in the 3DS one. I assume it’s possible sense they almost made it back in the game, (removed due to not working to well on the 3DS hardware apparently) that’s how they might’ve looked if they were in.
Wonder what a new Ice Climber stage would’ve looked. (Would be nice to have one that looked more like the NES game.)
They left the Polar Bear enemies in “Smash Run” though as homage to them.
