Well, it could be taking place right after “Magic Duel”, with Luna tracking down and confronting a lonely Trixie; seeing a kindred spirit in the young unicorn, she offers to take Trixie under her wing as a student in order to give her the guidance towards a better life she so desperately needs. At the same time, Luna hopes that being a teacher for Trixie will help better herself as well and provide a way for her to atone for her own past sins.
 
Having formed the covenant of the teacher and student, Trixie lays down to sleep, at peace for the first time in weeks, and Luna covers her precious new student with her wing to keep her warm during the cold night.
 
At no point does sex take place.
