I’ve been seeing alot of hate for SweetieMash lately, I assume it’s because it used to be a popular ‘ship, so some got sick of it. (Even Sweetie’s VA Clair Corlett is a fan of SweetieMash, and jokingly refered to Button Mash as her boyfriend.)

To be honest, I don’t think they were meant to be bashing JanAnimations, seeing how popular he & his works are. But it was just poking fun at how more strict Hasbro/DHX/ECT. got over the C&Ds, as Jan wasn’t the only victim of that.

IT REALLY WAS. Like..was there really point to an animation that has NOTHING to do with Button or Sweetie Belle? It felt more like a middle finger to the shippers, like “Lol fuck you here’s what I think of Sweetiemash!”.
 
Someone should do that :D.

I think the inclusion of that entire scene with Button Mash and Sweetie at the end of the Cutie Re-Mark Prequel just to tease the fans was completely forced upon just for the sake of making another Buttongate joke. The whole animation could had done without Button and Sweetie at the end anyways
 
BTW: Who wants to go to posted screencaps from those vids that make C&D jokes like the one from Cutie remark prequel and add a Impending ButtonGate or C&D Joke animation tag to them?

Pretty much this. It’s gotten to the point where the joke’s been beaten down and more of a “lOL FUCK JANANIMATIONS!” thing, seriously Cutie Remark Prequel did a very insulting thing with that joke..
 
“Strangers” was pretty good and while I ship SweetieMash HARD, It does give the feel it’s just about childhood friends who miss each other, whether it’s become they drifted apart…or if they moved.

Not just that, but it feels like alot of fans have been kinda using Button as a butt-monkey (butt of the jokes) lately.  
I almost feel sorry for him.

“Strangers” actually was pretty good. Some hate it, because of the “SweetieMash” undertones. Regardless how you feel about the ’ship, you could just enterpretate it as two childhood friends who miss each other, unaware the other does too. The song is quite lovely too.

You know being a SFM Pony animator and a fan of Button Mash, I actually do have some things planned with Button Mash. (I made about 5 SFM Pony animations with Button Mash so far on my YouTube channel)

I hate the stupid references to the C&D, it’s like the fan animators do it deliberately to piss on Jan just because he got a Cease and Desist.
 
I want to see a good button mash animation without it being a stupid ‘Lol remember he was axed?’, the last time we got a decent Button Mash animation was the “Strangers” animation, and that was just about how Button and Sweetie Belle just drifted as best friends (or possibly broken relationship).

When I seen Button’s cameo in The Cutie Remark Prequel animation, I got excited, till I seen him get hit by the Tardis and Sweetie pulls up that sign, referencing the C&D incident (I thought C&D Joke pictures with Button died off around the end of 2014 with like 2 C&D related fananimations being posted in 2014)
 
It looks like no fananimator is gonna ever bring Button Mash back again unless they find a way to reference that C&D incident. (I hope we can get some fananimations that would be kinda like what would had happen if the C&D never happened)

Stop incorporating what happened to you in Ask the Crusaders. Yes we know the legal thing as been frustrating, but you’re reaaaaaaaaaaaally making people just give up all together.
 
(Hell, I just avoid everything since I have a bad feeling Button Mash is no longer going to be a thing for you because Hasbro).
