I was saying he’s right about specifically why Windu chose purple, not that they can’t be totally different colors. Blue is pretty much THE generic light-side Jedi color while red is THE color of choice for most dark-side Jedi, and Mace Windu chose the combination of both because he’s light-aligned but knows how to tap into his anger in combat without going to the dark side.

Read what he said again, he was wrong even by that, from what he says there can not be colors other then shades of blues, reds, and a mix of the two.

The blade’s color is determined by the color of the crystal, and Jedi usually end up choosing a color that reflects their personality. So while he’s wrong about what actually causes the color, he’s right about the reason Windu chose purple.

^Actually, Windu’s purple saber indicates that he has studied in both the Light (blue) and the Dark (red) Sides. Since the builder’s spirit colors the blade, the color indicates their tendencies and powers. I say builder’s rather than wielder’s because Luke was given his father’s blue saber before building his own green one.
