Yeah. Lauren Faust herself has say she prefers the characters on their maturely level not their actual ages.
Heck, even the people who work on the show don’t know what his age is, right?
Nobody in the fandom know what Spike’s official age is, so I’m not gonna guess what Spike’s age is because I’m don’t know.
Most people like to think they know what Spike’s age is but its really headcanon not fact.

The key words in these situations are “I see him as” or “I think”.
When people start to say things like “He’s older/younger because X” like it’s a fact, conversations tend to turn into wars.
Spike’s age is controversial, but I’m personally not really interested in convincing anyone of one thing or the other.
The only thing I’m interested in is for people to get off their high horses and realize it’s all headcanon that’s based on even more headcanon.
Spike is not the same age as the C.M.C. and he do not goes to school with them, so he older.

I’ve always sort of seen him as almost the same age as the CMC. Maybe slightly older. So, I would still think of him in his kid stage, but he seems mature enough not to be considered a baby or toddler, even though he’s referred as a baby dragon for his initial size.

We disagree then, because I don’t see him as a kid, so I don’t see that as a reason why Pinkie and him would get along well. Pinkie Pie… she really just gets along with everyone really.
He’s older then the CMCes I will agree.
As mature as Spike is he is still a kid and Pinkie should be able to connect a little easily with him because of that. Not to mention everyone has fun when Pinkie Pie is involved :D
Well, I’ve always thought of Spike being closer to the mane 6’s ages.
At least you don’t act as if your opinion is a fact. I just hate the bronies that shove their headcanon down others throats with “evidence”
