Oktoberfest is a bavaria festival, so there must be the bavaria flag. And germany have seperate traditional outifts depending on the region, so don´t think about Lederhosen if you hear germany.
 
If you want a more calm and nicer festival, go to the Kärwas, these are more local at the big cities, yet have alot of nice things to offer. Atleast here in bavaria.

Generally speaking, you’ll probably have more fun at a local wannabe Oktoberfest.
 
If you really have to go there, go to the separate area called “Oide Wiesn”. It’s far more traditional and family friendly.
 
The beer however is still ludicrously expensive.
