Nice. If I were a little girl I’d want that. Actually, I think I want it anyways.
You don’t necessarily have to, the timeline thingy some Transformers sites have pictures of up from slightly before SDCC.
Awwww, frag. I wish you hadn’t said that. That sounds just insane/awesome enough I might splurge to find out.
They actually come with a little book about the history of the band. Dunno if they have individual bios beyond that though.
How could you forget? I half expected you to make use of them in your comics somehow.
I really, really want to know what kind of bios they give them.
Like I said, it’s a borderline action figure. x3
WINGBONER POWERS, ACTIVATE!
Oh Primus I almost forgot about that XD.
…I feel you, man, I feel you.
If I had the money.
I’m short on it at the moment though & those are exclusives, I think, so the aftermarket’s a bit harsh.
@OneOverTwo
Does that extend to Transformers? :)
I actually really like this one. Its loads better than Rainbow power at least.
If nothing else its unique. The wings are very different from other existing wings and her design is significantly catchy.
Compare rainbow power where even with their giant hair the mane six still look pretty bland, with garrish Cutie marks on them no less.
Like, if their wings during rainbow power had taken on a unique look like this (rather than just some paint splattered on), I might have liked it more.
I for one am more likely to buy a toy that’s garish & over the top. They should release more garish & over the top toys.
IT’s more like - talk to the people that are the true creative minds (in this case, the show artists) and have them come back to you with a design that then can be translated into toys. Eg so that when it gets to the film/screen, it is not a horrendous eyesoar. Or at least sit the toy designers down with the artists so they can feed each ideas to come up with something more reasonable.
Haveing Sunset with a stage/transformed outfit - that’s fine, but this is just garish and over the top.
Those wings remind me of these.
Well, the movie’s not out yet, maybe it’ll give you what you want. Or maybe it’ll find a way to make you care about Sunny Side Up.
But yeah, this does look pretty cool, and I’m with you on the rainbow power being kind of a mess aesthetically.
I’d agree if it was a character I cared about, but sadly I find her really subpar compared to the other members of the mane six.
I just would rather have a plot about one of them than bacon hair is all.
On that note though, This is a really cool design; I wish they’d put that much effort into the mane six’s Rainbow power forms: those really fell on their faces.
@bingo77
Honestly? I think it might be better that way. Let her work to earn her redemption rather than the “hugs and rainbows and everything’s forgiven” that it looked like they were going to leave it as at the end of the last movie. It’s probably not a bad idea to let her prove her change of heart is genuine.
Why did they go to all this trouble making a super Detailed sunset shimmer toy when the other 5’s toys are pretty plain and by the numbers?
Twilight’s the only other character with similiarly detailed toys.
I guess sunset’s going to be pretty central from now on in EQG given the level of detail they’re putting into her.
And as a fan of Borderlands, I have to add “Congratulations, Sunset! You’re the new Firehawk!”
Sadly, I’ve heard most places other than Toys R Us have dropped Kre-O.
Which is a shame, since it’d really be a perfect medium for doing, say, Sugar Cube Corner and Carousel Boutique.
I’ll grant that some of the stuff is a bit overboard, but is “they shouldn’t make anything at all any more” anything but ridiculous in any case?
Also, I still think you’re reading too much into it and his really is just a massive overreaction to one doll.
@Sjogre
Nightmare Moon still looks the same, but point granted. Honestly, my vote would be to wait and see if this shows up in the movie and what it is if it does. It could just be a prop outfit she wears onstage, it could be magical girl powers, it might not show up at all. Until then it should probably just be “cape”, “wings”, maybe “you wish you could wear this”. You know, descriptive stuff.
