I would personally recommend The Vinyl Scratch Tapes, where The DJ and Octavia work together as radio show hosts. It is highly entertaining, really showing how such two different ponies could become friends. It also leaves opening to interpretation, until perhaps the end, the nature of their relationship.
If you just want them to be friends they can be.
