I recall the story normally ending in the tower, after him having climbed up her hair. “Plan B” does sound like it would be interesting, though… especially if Discord was in charge.

Hell, the hair would probably be HIS!

Depends on the story, again. The one I read just had the Princess get impatient, quip “What’s taking you so long? The prince comes up in no time at all” and the witch then got wind of it, cut off her hair and stuck her somewhere and waited for the prince. The prince didn’t kill the witch when she lured him in but jumped out and was blinded by landing in a thorn-bush and later on found Rapunzel who cried and her tears healed the Prince’s eyes. I’m not sure if the witch died later on or not, and the book also didn’t mention anything about Rapunzel’s parents in the end who were mentioned in the start.

Well from what I recall, the very basic story has her strong enough to not tie her hair to anything, so he climbs up it, reaches her, and she lunges into his arms in joy.

Which, still… so much pain on her scalp that isn’t mentioned.

Well now we’d just be going into territory of “How the lore has changed.” For the record, the nose-hair section was from Ren & Stimpy’s “Rapunzel”-based episode.

To which Stimpy snorts Ren into his nose to get him into the castle.

All we know is that someone took her into the tower and the knight saved her by climbing the tower. Most of what else exists results in the need to go read several books to see what was the original conditions, but for all we know, they’re as deep as “Where did the salesman who sold Jack the Beans that made the giant Beanstalk, get the beans, himself?”

Yeah. And what does this story have going for it figuratively? How did Rapunzel even get in the tower? I know an old witch put her there, but did her father lose her to the witch to pay off a debt or what?
ShimmeringStallion

Well, if the root’s strong enough, she COULD always try it the more painful way, though let’s be honest: she’d need to be RIGHT BY THE WINDOW to be able to stop the hero from falling due to her constantly struggling.

Climbing a girl’s long hair really wouldn’t hurt her if she were to tie it to something else before letting it down.

Just an observation.
