You know “budget cuts” just makes too much sense for how desperate CHS seems to be. I mean, it seems they’ll let any student join regardless if it seems likely that student as and ID or guardians even. Either these people from Equestria come with a lot of cash in hand to get into what looks to be a prestigious, private school, or they get a nice bit of state funding for every student.
Thanks to budget cuts, they only way CHS can pay for extracurricular programs is by selling magical artifacts from Equestria on the black market. They got two years’ worth of funding just from the Alicorn Amulet.

Well, it’s by a Japanese developer, and it’s set in various Japanese high schools, so you’d be correct in thinking that! But it’s also awesome.
